The
congregation was founded in 1949 as a sister parish to Trinity Lutheran
Church in downtown Sacramento. Town and Country refers to the name
of the area in what was then the northern boundary of the city.
The parish hall, old office, library and first wing of the school
were constructed in 1953. The church buildings were erected to house
classrooms and the extended school care. [see

Town and Country is a Christian Church with a solid foundation in
the Word of God as set forth in the Holy Bible. Our congregation
is lead by Pastor Russ Hess, an ordained Lutheran minister, who
studied at the Concordia Seminary in Saint Louis, MO.

Statement of Faith
- We believe that God created everything that exists.
- We believe there is only one true God-Father, Son,
and Holy Spirit.
- We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God.
- We believe man was originally created by God pure
and holy, doing what was pleasing to Him.
- We believe Adam and Eve rejected God's will and
brought sin into the world. Since that time, all people
have been born in sin. Sin brought separation from God,
dysfunction, and pain into the world among people.
- We believe people cannot fix this problem of sin
on their own, nor can they restore themselves to a right
relationship with God.
- We believe God sent His Son, Jesus, to save men
from their sins and save them from the consequences of their
sin--eternal damnation and separation from God.
- We believe Jesus, True God and True Man, lived
perfectly for us and died on the cross as payment for our
sin; He rose from the dead defeating death, hell, and Satan.
- We believe people receive forgiveness of sin, new
and eternal life, and power for living through saving faith
in Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. The Holy Spirit,
working through the Word, works such faith.
- We believe God brings His grace to us through the
Word, Baptism and the Lord's Super. These means of grace
are to be used by the Christian to grow in faith and service
to Christ Jesus.
- We believe Jesus will come again to take all believers
to their eternal home. We wait for His coming by sharing
Him with others and doing ministry in His name
